Day 116 - Study & Skate
With the weekend here, normally there is a feeling of excitement cause you’re able to sleep in and catch up on some needed rest, right? Wrong, because today we were woken up by the sound of a hammer at 6:30am . Oh well.
Today I had the full intention of doing as much homework as possible. I really wanted to finish another class, so I stayed in the entire morning in my room studying away. Right after lunch I saw that there was an opening for the test and I signed up. Honestly didn’t think I was doing that great in the test until I finished and saw my results were much better than my practice assessment. Pretty happy to have passed and finished another course.
As soon as I finished the test, I decided to go for a walk outside and bring the tripod and flash with me. I had an idea for mixing ambient light with the flash, but when I went out the sun had already gone down. I figured I could try to do some self-portraits in-between the buildings, but when I walked around the corner, I saw Su again with his skateboard. He had come back out to work on his Ollie’s. I set up my camera and started shooting. Still getting used to working with flash quickly. After figuring out how to get full power from the flash Su started to do some ollie’s and jumps. I’m surprised that I didn’t wasn’t able to get the sharpest photos even with high speed sync. I still have so much to learn when it comes to flash, but I’m digging the look of the photos.
