Day 88 - Saturday Stroll

I went out to search for a new lens today. Did some research to find the only Sony store in Beijing. I took the train down after lunch with my mind fully intended on buying a new lens. After getting lost on my first attempt thanks to a misplaced location on Google Maps, I finally made it to the correct mall. Once I got in there I checked around the corner to see the store with the gates shut. It had a sign on the door saying that the store was closed for renovations that would begin on November 22nd. Today is the 16th...I’m so confused.

Since the day was already starting to get late, I decided instead to take the train over towards the CCTV tower. Without a doubt, this part of the city has the best skyscrapers and tons of amazing architecture to take photos of. As I arrived, I began to take a few photos first of the CCTV tower. After snapping a couple of standard shots, I noticed behind the CCTV building was a building I didn’t have any memory of before. Turns out this is the Beijing television cultural center building. These turned out to be my favorite photos of the day. I continued to walk around the area for a bit longer before deciding it was time to head back to the hotel and have a nice evening.
