Morning of qualifiers was a frigid one. Conditions on the ramp reminded me of an ice skate rink on the take off, and the landings echoed throughout the ball park. With only 45 minutes of practice, we were able to hit the jump about 5 or 6 times before it was time to go. I had done a couple doubles in the previous practice, but wanted to up my trick and go switch. I did one switch hit in practice, and almost slipped out entirely on the jump. Decided to keep it at a forward double. Was able to land my trick, but didn't advance to finals.

Went to the locker room to warm up and hang out before the second heat started. Unfortunately, my buddy Robby Franco took a slam and ended up dislocating his shoulder. Bummed he wasn’t able to compete, but know he’ll be back strong in a few weeks.

That evening, it was time for finals to go down. The whole evening was truly one of the best things I’ve witnessed in skiing. With a crowd of over 15,000 people in the stands cheering loudly on the guys and gals. When it was all finished, it was Vincent Gagnier and Lisa Zimmerman talking home the wins. Major congrats to everyone for throwing down, and making it an awesome show to watch.

This entire journey that has been the Fenway big air will forever be one of the most unreal things I have or ever will get to experience in skiing. Getting to use the Red Sox locker room as our hangout spot, and using the batting cage as our wax and place to leave our luggage. Being able to walk through the dugout the first time to see the ramp.

The people of Boston came out strong and were easily the biggest turnout for a skiing event that I’ve ever witnessed. Then the cherry on top was singing Sweet Caroline, with the entire stadium bellowing it out at the top of their lungs. I just want to say thanks to US Freeskiing staff for inviting me out to compete. I wasn’t even expecting on being there till I got the call two days before the event. Now we all head to Korea for the Olympic Test event.
