Following a very long travel day back from Spain, I finally arrived in Portland, Oregon 36 hours later. Ecstatic to be back in the PNW, and headed straight up to Government Camp for the night to hang out with friends. The next morning after meeting up with my coach Mike, we were off to Canada.

We arrived in Whistler late that night, but thankfully weren’t in any rush the next morning. We were able to get tickets, and headed up to check out the course. Luckily for us, the course was open, and we were able to hit nearly all the features. We had practice the next day, and had a blast hot lapping the course. I still felt the affects of jet lag,  and started to ski really bad in the afternoon. Thankfully Mike was a voice of reason, and told me to just take it easy.

The following day was our qualifier, and we had some bad weather roll in. Thankfully I was able to land my second run, which put me in 2nd place for Heat 1. After heat 2 finished, the weather was so bad that we decided to postpone the event to the following day. This proved to be the right decision and the weather was much safer everyone. Before the guys dropped in, the girls were on course. Nothing out of the ordinary was going on, until we were about to take our warm up lap, and realized that we were on course hold. 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins went by, and none of us had any real idea of what was going on. Jamie Crane-Mouzy crashed very hard, and had to get flown out by to Vancouver. Thankful to hear she's getting better now, and recovering home in Park City. 

It’s never good when anyone gets hurt doing this amazing sport. With all of that in mind, we dropped in for our practice and started up the final 2 runs. My first run, I fell on the first jump. My second run, I was able to put a run to my feet, but came up a little short on the landing of the last jump, and barely was able to ride away from it. Thankfully it was enough to put me in the Top 10 for the day.

This helped to me establish my 5th good result for the year, and finish up my contest season ranked 8th place in the AFP Slopestyle.  It's been an unreal contest season for me, and I feel so blessed for all the support from family and friends over this year.
